Random thoughts and advice to my younger self. 

  1. Don’t get married before age 25. 

2. Date at least 2 years before marriage.

3. Never marry a person who lies to you.

4. Your education is more important than you think.

5. Being popular in high school is not important.

6. Loving yourself in high school is important. Just love yourself. Learn how – it’s vital!

7. Never do anything that makes you uncomfortable or goes against your values just to fit in.

8. Respect your parents, but use critical thinking when following the same path they took, i.e. with religion. You don’t need to follow blindly.

9. Trust your gut feelings.

10. Believe more in yourself. 

11. Have more fun.

12. Stop comparing yourself to everyone else AND don’t let anyone compare you!

13. Learn from criticism instead of getting offended or feeling “not good enough”.

14. Remember that you aren’t responsible for other’s feelings.

15. You don’t owe anyone a smile — smile only if you want.

16. Don’t diet, just learn how to enjoy healthy foods.

17. Enjoy sports more, stop judging yourself and your abilities.

18. Do your best and embrace not being the best.

19. Avoid aiming for perfection, that just leads to anxiety and disappointment.

20. Be yourself. There is nothing wrong with you and what you love and enjoy and how you are inside is perfect. 

21. Tell yourself until you believe it — “ I am good enough”

22. If someone doesn’t want to be with you, know that it doesn’t mean you aren’t good enough. It just means they aren’t right for you.

23. Hard things come to everyone, and everything gets easier with enough time.

24. Time moves quickly so enjoy your current stage of life — soon it will just be a memory.

25. Journal more — memories fade and change. Having things in writing is valuable.
